Terms & Conditions - Rising Soci@l Star Competition
The Rising Soci@l Star (RSS) Competition (Competition) is being promoted by The Remarkables
Group Proprietary Limited (TRG).
By entering the RSS Competition, each entrant accepts these Terms & Conditions together
with the General Competition Terms.
Eligibility requirements for Rising Soci@l Star Competition
The RSS Competition is only open to Australian residents who are eighteen years of age or older at the time of entry, who operate a channel that has been active for 12 – 36 months as at 29 January 2016 (Eligible Entrant).
All entrants in the RSS Competition must not have an existing contract with another agency and must be available for agency representation by TRG.
All entrants in the RSS Competition must not have an existing contract with brands who compete directly with the Competition’s brand partners –
a. Bonds (e.g Bras N Things, Cotton On Body);
b. Priceline (e.g Terry White Chemists, MAC Cosmetics); and c. Qantas (e.g Virgin Australia Airlines, Etihad Airways).
There is no cost or fee to enter the Competition.
Only valid entries that are received via the RSS website, have satisfied the entry requirements and have successfully completed the entry process outlined below in the How to Enter section will be eligible to win a prize.
8. The Competition starts on 29 January 2016 at 12:01am AEST and runs until 11 March 2016 at 11:59PM AEST (the Promotional Period).
How to enter
9. To enter the Competition, an Eligible Entrant must:
complete the entry form at www.risingsocialstar.com.au during the Promotional Period; and
share the content challenge on a minimum of 1x social share using the prescribed hashtag and brand mention as per the instructions on the RSS website.
Entries into multiple categories will be accepted provided an entry form is filled out for each individual category.
Finalists will be chosen by TRG according to the judging criteria and announced on 18 March 2016.
Finalists will then have 5 weeks to complete 3 blog challenges in a 4 week period from 18 March 2016 to 6 May 2016 and must be available to travel to Sydney to attend the Soci@l Star Party on 27 May 2016.
The content provided by finalists in the challenges will be judged by a panel of expert judges. The best entry from each category as determined by the judges, in their absolute discretion based on the judging criteria will be confirmed. There will be one winner from each category; Beauty, Travel, Wellbeing and Fashion.
Four winners (one per category) will be announced at the Soci@l Star Party in Sydney on  May 2016.
15. Each winner will receive:
a 6-month contract with TRG;
$4,000 cash to jumpstart their channel;
a $400 scholarship for the Secret Bloggers’ Business course of their choice;
a brand ambassadorship with a brand partner (Priceline for wellbeing and beauty, Qantas for travel and Bonds for fashion);
a feature in Renegade Collective magazine; and
the opportunity to appear at the Vivid ideas festival on 21 May 2016.
16. If a winner accepts the Prize, they agree to:
act as an ambassador for one of RSS’s brand partners for the period from 1 June 2016 to 30 November 2016, subject to a written contract between the winner and TRG and create six pieces of content for the relevant brand partner, which will be used on the RSS brand’s channels;
feature in Renegade Collective magazine and the digital and social media channels for “Collective Hub”;
be available for media or other publicity opportunities for RSS;
be represented by TRG for an initial contract period from 1 June 2016 to 30 November 2016; and
give TRG first option on continuing that contract beyond 30 November 2016.
Each entrant retains ownership of the intellectual property in the content produced for their entry and subsequent content challenges they participate in during the Competition.
As a condition of entry, each entrant grants TRG, and their brand and media partners, an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free licence to use, with author attribution, the content generated for the Competition across their digital assets, broadcast assets, print assets and social media channels.
All finalists will need to provide screenshots of all relevant analytics relating to the RSS content published during the competition.
TRG General Competition Terms
TRG is The Remarkables Group Proprietary Limited (ACN 155 929 025) (TRG).
Information on prizes and how to enter TRG competitions form part of these Terms & Conditions of Entry.
By entering TRG competitions, entrants accept these General Competition Terms and the specific Terms & Conditions of the TRG competition being entered.
Subject to any entry requirements set out in the competition Terms & Conditions, TRG competitions are open to all Australian residents, excluding employees of TRG and their immediate families and TRG’s related companies.
To enter TRG competitions, entrants must satisfy all entry requirements and entries must be received by TRG by the close of business on the specified closing date.
Prize winners of TRG competitions are selected at Level 2, 91 Campbell St, Surry Hills NSW 2010 on the specified competition judging date. Winners are contacted by email or mail within 5 business days of selection.
The judges' decision is final and binding. As such, no correspondence will be entered into.
Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winning and they may wish to seek independent financial advice prior to accepting any prize.
If for any reason a winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize by the time stipulated by TRG, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.
All prize winners agree to the use of their entry details for publicity and competition purposes.
Prizes are not redeemable for cash. TRG accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of any prize (or part of any prize).
If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, TRG, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize of equal value.
Each entrant's personal information (Personal Information) is collected to enable TRG to administer and promote each competition. The Personal Information of winners may be provided to third parties who are assisting TRG, including to authorities that regulate competitions. Entrants who fail to provide all requested Personal Information, may be determined to be ineligible to win a prize.
Failure by TRG to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
TRG assumes no responsibility in any way in relation to entries and is not liable for failure of any email or entry to be received by TRG due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, including any injury or damage to an entrant's or third party’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in a TRG Competition.
Subject to the Terms & Conditions of each competition, all entries are the property of TRG. Each entrant grants TRG an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free licence to use their entry (and any intellectual property contained in their entry) for any reason including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes.
The laws of New South Wales govern TRG competitions. Any prize awarded to any entrant, or the entry by any entrant in a TRG competition which would constitute a breach of any law will be void.
TRG may disqualify, at its discretion, any entrant who has breached any of these General Competition Terms.
If a TRG competition is interfered with or disrupted in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of TRG, TRG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
to disqualify any entrant; or
to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate.
21. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, TRG (including its directors, officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of a TRG competition, including, but not limited to, loss or damage arising out of the following:
any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not within TRG’s control);
any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after receipt by TRG) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of TRG;
any variation in prize value to that stated in the Terms & Conditions of the competition;
any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or
use of a Prize.
The failure of TRG to comply with these General Competition Terms due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of TRG (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations) or other force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these General Competition Terms.
TRG reserves the exclusive right to change or modify these General Competition Terms and the Terms & Conditions of a TRG competition at any stage. The updated General Competition Terms and the Terms & Conditions will be shown on this page so please check back regularly.
